Maintaining data volume and allowing access to all information inside and outside the database is the challenge of ILM. The analysis of the SAP database requires a broad view that combines the technical criteria of the data with the importance of the information for the business. The purpose of implementing an ILM strategy is to satisfy these two aspects. Data protection and SAP
The General Data Protection Regulation enacted in the European Union since 2018 directly impacted information systems, and, of course, squarely on SAP systems. Arising from this is the concrete risk that companies will be penalized with very significant fines if their systems do not comply with the regulation.
Many of the companies that have SAP systems face this challenge that has two aspects: to detect what information to protect and, based on this, to define and implement a technical strategy in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
